In 2016, Lords of Acid contacted me to work on the artwork and creative direction for Smoking Hot, their new greatest-hits compilation. Released May 20, 2016 through Metropolis Records, Smoking Hot brought together 12 hand-picked tracks spanning the band’s catalog, including fan favorites such as “Voodoo U,” “Lover,” “Most Wonderful Girl,” “Sexbomb,” and “Stripper.” The collection was curated by Lords of Acid founder Praga Khan as a selection of some of the hottest songs from the band’s history.
After years of being out of print, Lords of Acid reached out to me once again to help bring their classic albums back to life. These special editions marked the long-awaited return of some of the band’s most iconic releases, completely remastered for a new era. My role was to rework and modernize the existing album artwork, carefully preserving the original identity and aesthetic while giving each release a more polished, contemporary presentation. Being part of the revival of these long-unavailable albums was an incredible opportunity to help reintroduce an important part of the Lords of Acid catalog to longtime fans and a new generation.
One of the most significant credits of my career came through Lords of Acid’s Pretty in Kink, where I served as Co-Executive Producer and played an active role in helping bring the album to life. The project represented a major chapter in the evolution of the Lords of Acid brand, and my involvement extended far beyond the visual side of the release. I worked closely with the band and production team throughout the development of the album, contributing to the creative direction, production process, and overall presentation of the project.
As Co-Executive Producer, I helped oversee and shape the creative vision surrounding the album, working to ensure that the music, imagery, branding, and promotional direction felt cohesive and authentically Lords of Acid. My role required a hands-on understanding of the project as a complete body of work, from the development of the album itself through its visual identity and eventual presentation to the audience.
Pretty in Kink was particularly important because it brought together the many elements that had defined Lords of Acid throughout their career while pushing the project into a new era. I helped contribute to that transition by working alongside the artists and production team to make sure the finished release maintained the attitude, personality, and provocative identity that fans expected from Lords of Acid while presenting it as a polished contemporary release.
Being credited as Co-Executive Producer on Pretty in Kink remains one of the most important professional accomplishments in my music career. It represents the trust the band placed in me not only as a designer, but as a creative collaborator capable of contributing to a major album project from the production side. The experience expanded my role within the Lords of Acid organization and became a defining example of how my work evolved from graphic and visual design into broader creative direction, album development, marketing, and music production.
Since 2011, I have worked on every Lords of Acid tour, becoming a trusted creative partner and the person responsible for making sure the band's brand remains visually consistent, recognizable, and on point wherever it appears. Over the years, my role has grown far beyond graphic design. Lords of Acid has entrusted me with protecting and evolving the visual identity of the band across their live shows, marketing, merchandise, venues, and promotional campaigns.
For every tour, I serve as the creative authority for the Lords of Acid brand, working directly with venues, promoters, vendors, tour management, and other production partners to ensure that the band's identity is represented correctly at every level. Whether it is tour advertising, venue materials, digital campaigns, promotional graphics, signage, or printed materials, I oversee the creative execution and make sure everything meets the standards of the Lords of Acid brand.
I am also deeply involved in the marketing and promotion of each tour, developing and adapting campaigns for individual markets while maintaining a unified visual identity across the entire tour. I work directly with venues and promoters to provide the necessary advertising materials, meet deadlines, coordinate production, and ensure that each market has what it needs to successfully promote the show.
Merchandise is another major component of my work. I help develop and oversee the creative direction of tour merchandise, working with vendors and management from the design stage through production and delivery. I make sure that the merchandise feels authentic to the band while maintaining the same level of visual quality and branding as the rest of the tour.
Because of the long-standing relationship I have built with Lords of Acid, I am also a trusted point of contact for the band's creative and promotional needs throughout the touring process. I work closely with the band and tour manager, help resolve issues as they arise, coordinate with outside partners, and make sure the creative side of the operation continues running smoothly.
Having Lords of Acid place that level of trust in me for more than a decade has been one of the greatest privileges of my career. I have had the opportunity to help shape how the band is seen by audiences across countless cities and venues, while protecting a visual identity that has become synonymous with Lords of Acid. To be the person the band relies on to make sure their brand is always represented correctly is an honor I do not take lightly, and it remains one of the most rewarding aspects of my work in the music industry.
